"There are little nooks with big, cushiony seating. There's a gorgeous back patio that looks like something from a Four Seasons Resort. Fireplaces, big comfy seating areas, and heat lamps had us wishing that there wasn't a private party booked out there for the night.

Everything on the menu sounded delicious and the staff were professional but friendly. Great wine suggestions from our server were greatly appreciated. Surprisingly, there are many great wines in the $35-$50 range. We had a delicious bottle of Malbec, a three-cheese cheese plate with excellent fruit and nut pairings, and a huge platter of roasted summer squash with olive oil, crispy onions, and huge puffs of the creamiest cheese I've ever tasted."

Experience a whole new world of wine at BIN 38 Restaurant & Wine Bar. The wines of Argentina, Australia, California, Chile, New Zealand, Oregon, South Africa and Washington all take center stage, along with old world classics from Italy, France and Spain.

BIN 38 provides wine, beer and food lovers a prime place to sip, swirl and snack in the Marina district. We also offer a rare find in the city – two outdoor seating areas: a large heated and tented back patio and a heated front sidewalk seating area.

With 55 wines by the glass, finding a favorite should be a thoroughly enjoyable task. The hand-selected, small production wines are unique and hidden gems from across the globe. BIN 38 also offers a selection of 30 exotic craft beers featuring a wide array of premier international and local breweries for those who prefer bitter over brix.

A creative and wine-friendly contemporary American wine bistro menu, crafted by executive chef Michael Robertson provides the perfect complement to the wines. The locally-focused, seasonal menu complements and enhances the wine experience providing everything from light bar bites to heartier dinner fare.

BIN 38’s interior is as unique as its ample exterior space with private alcoves boasting different vibes. An intimate, custom-made L-shaped couch fills one room while a tall, group-inspired communal table occupies another. Gold and burgundy flecked onyx countertops flank the long bar and a back room enabling private parties an opportunity to rent out a portion of the sleek space. Heat lamps and an outdoor fire-pit will keep things warm on the patio during chilly San Francisco days.

The name is a combination of the wine term BIN, signifying the parcel of land from which specific grapes are harvested and stored in a 'bin', and 38 - the latitude of San Francisco.

BIN 38 is brought to you by partners Don Davis of Uncorked Events, Peter Scully of Apartment 24 and 38 NORTH, Shaw Amirghassemkhany of Shaw Management and David Sheridan.  The four partners also own The Republic gastropub and sports bar directly across the street from BIN 38.
